Artistic Director/Owner
Natalie J. Kolosci- Artistic Director
Natalie's teaching, choreography, and dance experience is extensive. Her early years of dance provided her with vast experiences ranging from performing with the Kirov and Bolshoi Ballet companies from Russia, as well as with Joffrey of NYC and Ruth Page, Allegro American Ballet Company, and Ellis DuBoulay's dance companies in Chicago. Aside from her dance experience, Natalie was also a gymnast and National Baton Twirling Strut Champion.
Natalie has taught for dance centers throughout the Illinois/Indiana area including teaching and choreographing for Indiana Ballet Theatre NW, Dance Alive!, Dancin' Around Dance Studio, and Crown Point Dance Affiliates. As Associate Artistic Director for IBTNW, Natalie choreographed for and rehearsed Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty, along with several musical theatre remakes including selections from Cabaret, Grease, An American in Paris, and Chicago. She owned "Natalie's School of Dance" in Lake Station from 1974-1992 and directed "Fabulous Feet Touring Dance Troup". This is her 6th year owning Civic Dance Center, at which an annual "Nutcracker and Winter Showcase" has grown into a holiday tradition in the community.
Several of Natalie's students have gone on to acheive great things in their lives through their dance enducation; some of these acheivements include teaching students who have gone on to become artistic director's of professional ballet companies, own their own studios, join professional companies, and have been accepted into summer intensive programs including Houston Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, and American Ballet Theatre.
